Overview
This 22-day tour is filled with adventure and exhilarating experiences! You will explore Cusco and the Sacred Valley of Urubamba, as well as surrounding areas. Throughout the tour, you will visit a multitude of Inkan ruins and Pre-Inkan sites, obtaining a profound insight to their culture, architecture and history. In addition, you will spend time visiting museums, local markets and indigenous villages. Highlights of this tour package are two days in the incredible ancient city of Machu Picchu and an in-depth visit to Puno which includes a two-day private boat tour on Lake Titicaca, accompanied by a one-night homestay on Amantani Island. All accommodation is in hotels, apart from homestay.

Day 1
From Home to Lima
Day 2
From Lima to Cusco. Travel by private van to Ollantaytambo (“Ollanta”), built on original Inkan ruins, lower than Cusco for better acclimatization. Overnight in Ollanta at Hotel El Sol.
Day 3
Day hiking to ruins in Ollanta including agricultural storage. Overnight in Ollanta at Hotel El Sol.
Day 4
Day hike to Inka bridge and quarry of Cachicata. Picnic lunch. Overnight in Ollanta at Hotel El Sol.
Day 5
Visit to Inkan and Pre-Inkan ruins of Maras, Moray, and salt flats Salineras with hike down to Urubamba river and buffet at restaurant Tanupa. Visit Pablo Seminario’s ceramic workshop in Urubamba. Travel by private van back to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco hotel.
Day 6
Cusco – Walking tour including Koriocancha and Cathedral. Overnight in Cusco hotel.
Day 7
Cusco – Inka ruins including Sacsayhuaman, Tambomachay. Picnic lunch. Overnight in Cusco hotel.
Day 8
Animal sanctuary, camelid zoo, hike through ruins at Pisac and down to market and lunch at Ulriches restaurant. Overnight in Cusco hotel.
Day 9
Inka watercourse ruins of Tipon and bread making town of Oropesa. Overnight in Cusco hotel.
Day 10
Very early departure and travel by private van to Ollanta followed by train to Aguas Calientes. Settle in Hotel and at midday take bus to Machu Picchu. Climb Machu Picchu Mountain and see Sungate. Tour Machu Picchu mid-afternoon. Overnight in Aguas Calientes Hotel.
Day 11
As early as desired, return to Machu Picchu for a second day to see sunrise, weather permitting. Climb Huayna Picchu early morning. Hike to Temple of the moon and Inka bridge. Self guided tours around Machu Picchu. Overnight in Aguas Calientes Hotel.
Day 12
Return to Cusco. Free day. Overnight in Cusco hotel.
Day 13
Tour bus to Puno, visit numerous sites including colonial church: Andahuyalillas , and Inkan and Pre-Inkan ruins at Raqchi and Pukara. lunch in Sicuani. Overnight in Hotel Camino Real in Puno.
Day 14
Private boat tour on Lake Titicaca, to Uros islands and homestay on Amantani Island. Hiking to Pachamama and Pachapata Inka ruins. Lunch and dinner included. Overnight in homestay.
Day 15
Continue with private boat tour to Taquile island, hike over the island to visit Pre-Inkan ruins, and return by boat to Puno. Breakfast and lunch included. Overnight in Hotel Camino Real in Puno.
Day 15
City tour Puno. Cathedral, Dreyer museum. Kuntor. Overnight in Hotel Camino Real in Puno.
Day 16
Expore Sillustani, Totora Museum, Ichu and Chucuito around Puno. Late day bus returning to Cusco. Overnight in Cusco hotel.
Days 17-20
Day hiking around Cusco. Possibilities include Nusta Pacana, Quispe Wara, Chacan, Temple of the Monkeys, Temple of the Moon, Inkiltambo, Huanca, Zona X. Visiting markets in Wanchaq, San Pedro, Ttio, Molino, Baratillo (if Saturday). One day we will go to Chinchero to see a complete weaving demonstration (from the raw wool to the finished product), eat a traditional Peruvian meal including guinea pig and choclo corn. We will also visit the ruins at Chinchero. Overnights in Cusco hotel.
Day 21
To Airport for flight from Cusco to Lima.
Day 22
Lima to Home.
