Antonio has worked in the tourism industry since he was very young (12 years old) during which he obtained much experience and knowledge, and learned the wisdom of Pachamama and the respect to nature. Antonio has expert knowledge about each mountain and route in the region of Cusco and has also guided many tourist groups all over Peru. He is 27 years old and was born in an area around the mountain of Salkantay. Later, he moved to Cusco where he decided to become a guide. Antonio loves his job because he can get to know many people from all over the world and share his knowledge that was inherited from his ancestors.
Joel was born in the community of Apurimac’s Curahuasi Department, which is situated 3.5 hours outside of Cusco. He comes from a humble family, with many customs and traditions that have been passed down from many generations, as his grandparents were Altomisayoc (shamans) and they inculcated the Andean religion and respect for Mother Earth (Pachamama). Since early childhood, Joel has wanted to share his culture and customs with others, and it is for this reason he decided to study tourism. He graduated as a Guia Profesional in Tourism and has been working as a guide for the past 5 years in Cusco and around Peru. He is a specialist in cultural tourism, adventure and mysticism, and enjoys to explore the Andes following the paths of the Incas, trekking areas such as Salkantay, Huchuyqosqo, amoung others. Joel has great admiration for the Incas who passed down a vast amount of wisdom and rich traditions, and as such he feels very proud of his land and of his people. His dream is to help the people of the high Andes, especially to assist the children in obtaining an education.
